No live music or dance floor. Its more of a place to socialize and enjoy the environment rather than 'get down' after dinner. Needless to say that the mambo taxis and margs might compel you to make your own dance floor ? I dont think anyone would stop you on a weekend night ?
Typically, you do not need reaervations. However, call ahead if you will have a big group or want to see what the current wait time is for seating.
They had advertised they have a great Happy Hour?
Yes they do.
I do not think so.
Not sure I think they dont
Very casual
Yes they do
Heard it was charge, and tip. Free parking after 6pm weekdays, and all weekend(if you find a spot)
Always a great experience! Great service, and Great food. Very friendly atmosphere. ðŸ‘
To the point... food was horrible... drink watery.... server was sweet but he just could not keep up with the busy night they were having. Super disappointing and frustrating.
Great food and fast service. Highly recommended
Very busy but got seated real quick and already have food 15 minutes after being seated, great service. Snoop Dogg the server
Been here a million times but never wrote a review until now. The chips are served hot, and the salsa is great. I normally order the fajita nachos which are served on individual chips so to avoid a soon to be soggy mess. I've ordered several things off the menu and never been disappointed. Where they really shine are with the cocktails. Arguably the best bang for your buck drink in all of downtown are the Mambo Taxi and Mambo Limousine. They taste great and don't skimp on the alcohol.
The service was impeccable and enjoyable! We felt very comfortable dining here! The restaurant's ambiance is very modern tex mex. The food was good. I really loved the flavors especially from the sauce on my enchiladas. The chicken inside my enchiladas tasted a tad bit dry but the flavors were still there! I also enjoyed my topo chico and was very happy that they had it available on the menu. Our table was also very spacious and roomy, which was perfect for us. I definitely recommend this place for a nice lunch/dinner romanticly with your loved one or a nice get together with family and friends! The prices are decent for the dishes and the amount you are served as well. Overall it was the service that gave this place a 5 stars for me.There is complimentary valet across the street for parking but please remember to tip!
Nice vibe in the restaurant. Had a bar and plenty of seating, both indoor and outdoor.A decent tex mex eatery in Sundance square. I went in the late morning on a Saturday. At this time, the place was relatively empty, which was nice. Service was nice and quick, waiters were attentive, and the food was decent (ordered a no fuss cheese-only quesadilla). The prices for the food are comparable to those such as On the Border and El Chico. Not too expensive. Will return if in Fort Worth again.
This is my favorite MiCocina in the DFW area, staff is always amazing and their service is fast, and that’s great when you’re on your lunch break. I highly recommend the Chicken and Rice soup, OMG, it’s so good. Reasonable prices.
By far the best value for quality restaurant I have ever been to. The vibe and food quality I would describe as casual fine dining. It's very causal - shorts and sandals are ok. But the food and service are absolutely fine dining quality. I had tortilla crusted salmon (sounds weird, I know) and it was top tier, along with the vegetable medley. My friend had BBQ brisket enchiladas, which were also fantastic. The sauces definitely tasted home made and very fresh. The veggies were fresh and vibrant, the salmon was also very fresh and clean. It holds up against $40-$50 salmon dishes I've had, and it's only $19 here.Chips are thick and hardy, the salsa is fresh and just the right amount of spicy. All in all, phenomenal experience for a very reasonable price.(also, Matthew was our server. He seemed like he might have had one too many tables, and he was still amazing. Perfect service and great recommendations!)
This is a fairly large fancy restaurant that can accompany big and small groups. The customer service was great, the waiter was attentive and very friendly. I came with a group of 10 or more, they made room for everyone even when our entire party was not present at the time. The frozen strawberry margarita was delicious, the best one I had! The food was good as well, the taste in the enchiladas was mouth-licking good! Love the landscape and the decor of the restaurant. It was a pleasant experience with reasonable prices on the menu.
Went to Fort Worth just to go eat and chose Mi Cocina.. the food was Great the service outstanding the drinks amazing. I would highly recommend this place if you haven't been there before ðŸ‘🙂🌻
The salsa is amazing. I had salmon with tortilla crust and it was good. It does not come with rice or beans. The sauce was good but they barely gave any vegetables. Keep in mind the salmon was a little drier than I normally like it but it was good as far as flavor. The service was mediocre. The waiter acted as if he was overwhelmed at lunch which is a busy time normally so maybe he was new to lunch. Overall I would go back again.
My wife and I chose to spend Valentine’s Day there for dinner and I’m glad I made the choice. Our server Diana was informative yet gave us our space when we needed it. Tacos mi Tierra hit the spot. Definitely recommend!
Good food great value and the staff are really friendly and polite.
Adrián is awesome!! Best server!! Atentative, on point!!
The managers and staff are always friendly and polite. The food is excellent and very reasonably priced for downtown dining. The best time to come is afternoon between the lunch and supper crowds. Otherwise, expect a large crowd.
Adrian is the best ! He went above and beyond to make sure our night was memorable! Thank you! We’ll be back!
So I went back again after my most recent review. I had Analise (I know that's an incorrect spelling) & I again did not have a good experience. I told (as Ana suggested) our Waitress I wanted my food Hot. When it came, it was warm & when she asked how was everything, I told her both my daughter's & my food was warm at best. She said she told them "Caliente". I told her it was far from that. She said she would let the Manager know, which was Ana. Ana came towards our table & talked to the patrons at the 2 tables by my daughter & I & called her name twice, but she did not answer. We were literally less than 2 feet away from her, which made my daughter say, "Maybe that's not her name". I gave it another try, but I'm done with this location. You shouldn't have to tell a restaurant that you want your food "Hot". I didn't know that was a prerequisite. I still left a tip!
The food was great! Authentic taste. Good salsa with a little kick (chips n salsa). I had the sunset (I think) enchiladas and I enjoyed them very much. They come with a queso sauce that has a more kick that the salsa, which I liked a lot. I went for lunch at work but would like to take my wife there for a nice dinner.
The staff was welcoming and friendly. Good atmosphere and attentive but not bothersome service contributed to a very enjoyable meal. The food was very great, well seasoned with lots of flavor. Our server kept our drinks full as well. I'd eat here again!
Love love love the food. Great service, nice ambience. Try the Chicken Fajita sunset style. Its mindblowing.
Adrian and his hospitality are unmatched! Please ask for him whenever you’re here
Service is excellent. The food does not live up to the service. It's more Tex than Mex by far. The ingredients are quality but the end product seems an imitation of the goal.Liquor prices are unpublished and unreasonable, beware.
The food was great , Adrián did an exelent service , so happy i choose this place to hang out .
The food and service is always great! We usually go at lunch time and they are always so fast!
Brisket tacos are phenomenal, and the margaritas are outstanding. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. All the food and drinks are awesome. Last time I was here was about ten years ago and it's as good as ever. I wish they still had a restaurant in Houston.
Update to Previous Review: You have to like Mi Cocina, since my last review, they contacted me saying the were sorry for my experience. They offered for me to come back in order to get things right and they did! They provided great service (thanks Shannon) and a free meal. You have to appreciate a place who care enough to reach out and make it right. The food (Crusted Salmon) was much better as well as the whole experience. I definitely will be going back.Previous Review: It seems to me when Mesomaya went out of business, hence the competition, I feel the food and service have diminished. This used to be my go-to for Mexican.
Excellent food, amazing service, great atmosphere!
The food was pretty good and the restaurant was nice and clean. I had the enchilada dinner plate and my son got the kids soft taco meal, we were both satisfied. Our waiter was just ok, I had to keep tracking him down therefore I took a star away. He did apologize which i greatly appreciate but you can not forget about the guests no matter what. I'd definitely return. The decorations were pretty cool as well. We were seated immediately which was another plus.
Very nice place and the waiting staff is amazing. The place is hidden and pretty hard to find. The food does not taste how it appears except for the salsa and chips and the guacamole is pretty tasty as well, and the tequila bar has low self tequila. Remember eat great feel good regret never! Enjoy life and give me aðŸ‘🽠Thank you!
Everything was so fresh, so many servers will come over and as lk if you are ok. You first get a load of salsa and fresh chips to dip! There is music and the ambiance is romantic somewhat. A tip is definitely warranted!!
Great food and staff, never disappointed.
Started off as a rough experience-we had a large party coming in for a birthday last minute. Once we were sat, our waiter just made everything amazing! Service, attentiveness, and conversation! When you go, make sure you ask to sit with Hedi! He’ll take care if you for sure!! We will definitely be going back and soon!
I've been coming here for a while and I love this place not to mention the waiters. Adrian in particular has left quit the impression on me and has always made the visit here so enjoyable. Top 5 fav restaurants in my book.
Good but not great. Liked it but didn't love it.
Adrian is the bomb!!! We had an amazing time and he totally made our experience the best! Food was amazing!! Go see Adrian and give him a hard time. 😠😘
Our server Matthew made this place GREAT before we even tasted the food. This guy is a true professional waiter. He was warm and personable, he was knowledgeable about the menu and able to make recommendations based on our questions and answers and he was very prompt and attentive. I don't think a single glass on the table fell below 1/2 full. This guy took an order for the 11 people in our party without writing anything down and it came out PERFECT! It came out hot, as Matthew described it and it was delicious. It was ALL delicious and trust me I know because I'm that guy that samples everyone at the tables food :-) Last but not least... the pricing was fair (receipt picture uploaded) and I was surprised that the restaurant did NOT require a mandatory tip for large parties like most other restaurants. The restaurant is located in a nice area with a lot of other things to do and the surrounding area is very beautiful at night (see uploaded pictures).
Excellent location in the heart of downtown Fort Worth and Sundance Square. Walking distance to hotels and the water park. Right across from the performing arts theater. Very romantic with lots of food and beverage options. The only thing missing is a live band.
The hot sauce here reminds me of Albert's hot sauce. Ordered combo quesadillas and they were good.
We came here for my husbands birthday last Sunday. We had a party of 10 and our waitress was very friendly and made us all feel welcome. We had a wonderful time and the food was delicious!
The tortilla was kind of hard. The dressing on the fish tacos was too sweet. The green enchiladas were good, but nothing great. The red salsa for the chips tasted like canned salsa. The cherry tomatoes were really good. Had later a grill chicken was really tasty. The bathrooms were clean. The service was wonderful.
Really liked the brisket enchiladas. We are in their small outdoor area. Even though it's enclosed on 3 sides there was still a breeze. They were busy, so the service was good, but a bit slow. Grab a mint on your way out.
I wasn't super impressed. The food was just okay for the price and the service was terrible. We were the first ones in for lunch and the only ones in for quite a while but it still took 20 minutes to get waters and for someone to come back and take our order. By then, people had started to pour in for lunch, and the food took even longer. A 45 minute lunch trip ended up taking an hour and a half.
This place has pretty good service and very reasonable prices for the lunch menu. Very consistent great quality food. I never get drinks but they look pretty good too. I know other locations are quite busy for happy hour.
This place was a slam dunk. All the food and drinks looked and tasted great and came out lightning fast.
I had the chicken tacos. The meal was pretty good and reasonably priced. The chips are thicker than I prefer but were good. The salsa was pretty spicy, so I really liked that.
This was a great Mexican spot in downtown Ft. Worth. It is within walking distance of hotels, bars, clubs, and shopping places. The atmosphere and service was excellent and the food was delicious. We ordered tacos and several of the various kinds of margaritas and it was all very good.
Mi Cocina always great food and service. The Mambo Taxi is the best drink ever.
Really nice place, not too pricy, excellent service.
The food was amazing and so was the service. Nain was our main waiter and I can tell he’s a very hard worker and cares about giving the best experience and service to his customers no matter what. He made our night and new year extra fun! Thanks so much, Mi Cocina and especially Nain.
